Welcome to the new year! We have just finished and are sending out letters regarding your summer reservations! As usual, we see many familiar names, so welcome back, Friends. We also see some new people, and we look forward to getting to know you.
It is wedding, wedding booking, party, and event time. In the midst of weddings and parties, we will be having our second annual MyNK (My Neighbor’s Keeper) Mardi Gras Fundraiser for local charities. Last year was cold and wet, and we all had a super time. Everyone there taste-tested the gumbo cook-off entries, danced to the Zydeco bands, posed for photos, flaunted their Mardi Gras finery (masks and feathers were available for purchase there, in case you forgot!), drank, partied, and finally crowned the King and Queen. This year the weather bodes to be better and the crowd bigger. All cabins are available for a special $60/night rate, so you don’t even have to drive home. So come enjoy and stay the night if you are in the area!
FYI! A decision has been made regarding the Opera House. Because we are unable to keep the historic seats there in good repair (no parts available) and because people are bigger today than they were a hundred years ago, we have decided to remove them and replace them with movable chairs and tables. It was a hard choice, but one we felt we had to make. It will give us more flexibility in our event bookings and be a little more comfortable. So we are bidding adieu to our old seats. We have had numerous requests for a few of these seats, so they are now available in sets. You may get 2,4, or 6. Chairs are $50.00 each. Because there are limited numbers of end pieces, these will be first come, first served. You may call in a credit card number to hold chairs until you arrive this summer, if you wish. These would make a fine memento for a game room or anywhere else to remember all the times you spent sitting in them.
Another little request, and remember this is only a request. Some of our disgruntled customers have really slammed us on Trip Advisor, and it affects possible new guests particularly. If you enjoy your stay here, we would really appreciate some positive feedback.
Getting ready for you to come back soon,
The 7A Staff and family
